Thats ok I waited for you at Vic Winch 06 :finga:
Yeah but of the stages we did do we had a quicker time on 4 or 5 of the 7 we did :finga:

One word reliability

Give it time :finga:

Your 40 done, 3 comps now?
My hilux has done 14 (at a quick count) and its ONLY in the last 2 that anything has broken. Well other then cv`s in the first couple.
Motor has done, god only knows how many ks and had never been touched.

Also to add to the biting lol Its done from the hardest event in Aus (Tuff Truck) which it got 4th in write threw to nav events. Now lets see your 40 do that and stay reliable without sending you broke :finga:

I only know of Ateco, Alpine and Vic winch. Go down is more a club weekend event and if thats included then add another 3 or 4 to my list :finga:

But yeah you beat me, now lets line up side by side and see who wins :finga: well once I have the money to fix it up again.

Side by side I have no chance :salute: me and Ben are the tortoise of the feild, but we don't miss stages. We were the only truck this year to drive every stage at all three comps start to finish line all be it a with a few DNF's and never trialer'd home.

Not bad for a daily driver

Have looked at injection a couple of times but not sure if it gives us much as we usually run gas

Porting, polishing, different cam, heavier valve springs maybe larger valves, but he has to look into that and a few other bits, Will know more when I chat to him on Monday, he wants to have a look at the dyno read out too.

Would like a few more ponies and it to rev out to 5500 maybe more.

 Not much for the money.... not unless u spend the money on the bottom end, and don't know what injection systems u are looking at but if choose the rite one u will get more power, ask ur engine biulder about MOTEC or Wolf injection systems, MOTEC oh yer, now that would complement the new worked 2F, and rev and rev and rev, then maybe go BANG up the line some where :laughing7: :salute:

Why not use a head from the 3F as it has smaller chambers for the 4L cylinder capacity this will up your compression ratio a little. Then you can also use the EFI manifold from the 3f and then use a Perfect power ECU, check http://www.perfectpower.com/aboutus/history.asp so your co-driver can fiddle with your tune whilst you drive. Then you could have different tuning maps for economy, gas, petrol and comps.

I like this idea  , So will a 3F bolt on to a 2F block? Will my ceramic coated extractors bolt on to a 3F head?

As far as I know they 2f and 3f are the same motor but the 3f has a shorter stroke and EFI. The shorter stroke moved the power up the rev range a bit making it more drivable and better on fuel but sacraficed the torque that we need for the bush.

Similarly I belive they all stem from the 1f.

This is only what I have found through my own research, I have'nt actually had a 1f, 2f and 3f and changed all the parts araound.

You could possibly start by matching head and manifold gaskets from the 2 and 3f motors to check compatability.

there are also two types of heads for the 2f...

i can have a chat to my engine builder to see what he recommends... once i get his new number :( what figures are you aiming for, and he'll tell you what it needs.

look on ih8mud, they have the ultimate 2f thread over there/ with all sorts of building secrets.

There are also 3 different head hights, so check before you bolt on or push rod hights and rocker gear will be up the shite

Just scrap the2F and put in a 4.5ltr EFI out of a 80srs, plenty of power and torque standard can't beat that, and it would still be reliable, and if u want more power buy a toyota super charger and bolt it on, thats my 3c

That maybe one option too.

Well we have had quite a few new option, I was going to just have the head worked.

But after seeing and reading this http://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=126976

I think I have to stay true to the 2F or what will be the
