Hi everyone,
I’d just like to thank everyone again for coming along and helping out on the Gembrook/Bunyip 4WD Clean up Day.
A fantastic turn out from 3rd Rock 4x4, Vickrawlers, Victorian 4WD Club and Dandenong Ranges 4WD Club resulted in a HUGE amount of rubbish removed from the park, a number of trees cleared from across tracks and additional signage placed for visitor information.
It is however extremely disappointing that signs erected by our group on previous days having been either destroyed or removed quite clearly by other Four Wheel Drivers. It’s acts like this that will get these areas closed forever. Due to the continued destruction of these areas heavy duty barricading is now being installed, please stay out of the areas under the power lines. All driving in these areas achieves is a bad wrap from the two Governing bodies in the area being Parks Victoria and SP Ausnet who own this section.
Please if you see anyone doing the wrong thing either let them know they shouldn’t be driving off main tracks or if they are clearly disobeying or even destroying signs please take a photo and get it to the local Rangers.
Over the last two 4WD Clean up days all main tracks, camp grounds, motorcycle off loading areas have now been covered, while the amount of litter has been slowly dropping there’s still lots of work to do. If your Club wishes to be involved in future 4WD Clean Up days please feel free to contact me. The next day is scheduled for early November.
Thanks again.
James Hill
4WD Victoria Gembrook/Bunyip representative.
PS
I’ll get some photos up later
