So we're now making some pretty good headway with the amounts of rubbish getting less and less each time, that said we still have a lot of work to do. Stopping by a couple of the camp grounds on sunday i think we need to focus some attantion on these areas.

The dates are now set for the 3rd Clean Up Day for Sunday 21st September, 9am. We'll have a different meeting place this time which will be confirmed this week.

So we'll have 4 spots for each club this time with a 4th Club being added to the list as well.

The schedule will be 9AM start 1PM lunch, the a drive in the afternoon. Two groups will be arranged for a drive depending on the cars that are there on the day. Ideally a Medium rated trip and a Hard rated trip.

Who's free?

Victorian 4WD Club, they meet in Dandenong and have a number of members who are active with the association and have also conducted days of their own in the past in the high country.

They're keen to do more in the High Country, we just need them to do it under the 4WD Association banner so that we can gain further recognition from Parks.

GUys aside from what i've said below, your help is both welcomed and greatly apprictaied. Please be sure to remember that you guys can honestly say that you're making a difference

How did you go on Little Bunyip/Andersons?

Quote:
Hi everyone,

I’d just like to thank everyone again for coming along and helping out on the Gembrook/Bunyip 4WD Clean up Day.

A fantastic turn out from 3rd Rock 4x4, Vickrawlers, Victorian 4WD Club and Dandenong Ranges 4WD Club resulted in a HUGE amount of rubbish removed from the park, a number of trees cleared from across tracks and additional signage placed for visitor information.

It is however extremely disappointing that signs erected by our group on previous days having been either destroyed or removed quite clearly by other Four Wheel Drivers. It’s acts like this that will get these areas closed forever. Due to the continued destruction of these areas heavy duty barricading is now being installed, please stay out of the areas under the power lines. All driving in these areas achieves is a bad wrap from the two Governing bodies in the area being Parks Victoria and SP Ausnet who own this section.

Please if you see anyone doing the wrong thing either let them know they shouldn’t be driving off main tracks or if they are clearly disobeying or even destroying signs please take a photo and get it to the local Rangers.

Over the last two 4WD Clean up days all main tracks, camp grounds, motorcycle off loading areas have now been covered, while the amount of litter has been slowly dropping there’s still lots of work to do. If your Club wishes to be involved in future 4WD Clean Up days please feel free to contact me. The next day is scheduled for early November.

Thanks again.

James Hill
4WD Victoria Gembrook/Bunyip representative.

PS

I’ll get some photos up later

Hey James
I think our Victorian Four Wheel Drive Club members had fun. Sometimes we got a little off focus but wherever we stopped, we managed to fill up heaps of bags with rubbish. We pulled a dumped car out the bog near Ash Landing Tk under the power lines. I let 13BUSH know to pass a message onto Andy about it Sunday and I also spoke to Greg at Parks Gembrook today too.
We attempted Andersons but the group had a handicap, my Pathfinder. I don't think most would have got up anyway. Tim certainly gave it all in his 60series but had to back out. We ended up doing Ash Landing, Blue Range, Buyip Ridge Tks.
Thanks James, I am sure we will tag along again with you guys to help with this worthwhile excercise.
Apologies for being VERY late, my fault.

Nick
